What is the 10-Day Summit Challenge Motorcycle Tour?

  • The 10-Day Summit Challenge Motorcycle Tour is an all-inclusive competition. 20 riders in teams of 2 – 4 riders will journey to predetermined map locations. The locations will be provided in the Summit Challenge Book of Clues.
  • The ride is split into 10 days of physical and mental challenges. Rider teams will decipher clues, navigate themselves in the Western Half of Colorado reaching into Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico and work as a coordinated team. Riders will interact with locals, perform physical and mental challenges and vie for prizes provided by Sponsors of the Women’s Motorcycle Summit.

The Tour will:

  • Split into 10 days of riding from north of the Wyoming/Colorado Border, west to the Utah/Colorado border and south to the New Mexico/Colorado Border.
  • 3 days centered in the Ouray, Colorado area for the Women’s Motorcycle Summit.
  • A physical and mental challenge.
  • A challenge which requires participants to decipher clues, navigate themselves over the entire region of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and work as a team. They will interact with locals, and vie for prizes provided by Sponsors of the Summit Challenge.

Where will we be riding?

  • Many of the Rocky Mountain Peaks including but not limited to:
    • Independence Pass, Monarch Pass, Snowy Mountain Pass, Cameron Pass, Wolf Creek Pass and San Juan Peaks
  • Colorado’s Most Scenic Highways including but not limited to:
    • Trail Ridge Pass, Million Dollar Highway, Grand Mesa Scenic ByWay and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in its entirety


Soothe sore muscles at the best Hot springs the Rocky Mountains have to offer including:

  • Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa – Saratoga, Wyoming
  • Twin Peaks Lodge & Hot Springs – Ouray, Colorado
  • Springs Resort – Pagosa Springs, Colorado

You will attend the 3-Day Women’s Motorcycle Summit (WMS) June 9, 10, & 11, 2016. Enjoy your accommodations at the Base Camp at Twin Peaks Lodge and Hot Springs with the women of the WMS.

Enthusiastic women who love to ride motorcycles, meeting other women who share their passion including:

How does my team win the Summit Challenge?
Teams will progressively accumulate points over the 10-days of riding. The Prizes will be announced.

What do I need to know about the Summit Challenge?

  • Designed for riders of intermediate skill levels and above, this event is custom built for Motorcycle enthusiasts.
  • We recommend machines of 650cc or more.
  • By the close of this event, you will have learned valuable riding and navigation skills–helping you to get more from yourself and your motorcycle.

The 10-Day Summit Challenge will officially begin at 7am, Tuesday, June 7th.

Team Meeting
To get us started, we’ll have a short Meet N Greet on Monday, June 6th at 6pm in Loveland, Colorado to cover introductions, rules, and the schedule for the next 10-days. Location TBA!

Team Basics

  • PLEASE NOTE: This competition is about bringing out the best in each other and having a blast doing it.
  • This is a team event.
  • Minimum of 2 riders and max of 4 riders per team.
  • Team Name required!
  • All team members and (or) member motorcycles, must be included in location photos.

Attending the Summit Challenge Solo?

  • Single? We will place you on a riding team if you’re attending the Summit Challenge solo.

Can we ride in the Challenge as a couple? (1 female, 1 male)

  • Yes, riding on either one bike or two bikes.

How will I know which division to compete in?

  • There is only 1 Division in the 10-Day Summit Challenge.

How do I play the game? What are the rules?

  • Riders will receive a package at the team meeting containing their navigation tools to include: the Butler Summit Challenge Map and The Book of Clues containing Rules, and Route Descriptions, and the exact location of the photo sites for scoring plus any other needed info.
  • These tools will be essential in navigation planning as your Personal Book of Clues contains Waypoint locations and photos, all divided into Green (rolling highways & byways), Blue (now we’re riding), and Black (twisties to the extreme) with a point value based not just on varying degrees of difficulty but also time from Base Camp plus a few surprises.
  • Instagram will be instrumental in helping us track your location to award your team points. Once you are at the location, a team photo will be taken and submitted.
  • All team members and member motorcycles, must be included in location photos.
  • Teams will be rewarded for riding a diverse selection of locations.
  • Extra points for Individual rider performance on special tests. (optional)
  • Creativity when shooting their team photo at various bonus locations. (optional)


  • Teams are awarded points for the following:
    • Riding a combination of green, blue and black points on your Summit Challenge Butler Map – rewarding teams for riding a diverse selection of locations.
      Individual rider performance on special tests. (optional)
    • Creativity when shooting their team photo at various bonus locations. (optional)
    • Attending skills workshops. Example: WEAPONS FOR WOMEN Skills training at the Chief Ouray Gun Club. (optional)
  • The team with the most points wins the Summit Challenge and all that goes with that distinction including:
    • Inducted in the Summit Challenge Hall of Fame
    • Prizes put together through our Sponsors

I do not wish to wear a helmet. Is wearing a helmet required to ride in the 10-Day Summit Challenge?
Yes. All riders must wear a DOT approved helmet while riding in the 10-Day Summit Challenge.

Summit Challenge Daily Check-Ins
Competitors must check in at the planned accommodations each evening by 6 pm. Late check-ins may forfeit their points for the day.

When and where will the winners of the Summit Challenge be announced?
The winners will be announced at the celebration party located in Loveland, Colorado on Friday evening, June 17th, 2016
